The life of Swami Vivekananda was the life of an ideal youth. He had multi-faceted talents, he was a great orator, a great poet, a singer, a social reformer, a great patriot, and above all, a great spiritual leader of the world. That is why Swami Vivekananda is the only personality who can be a leader of youth icon.
In a short life of 39 years, 5 months and 22 days, this great man conquered the entire world his message.
Swami Vivekananda's Message of Internal Strength
After
Swami Vivekananda addressed the Parliament of Religions at Chicago, he stayed in America and Europe for 4-5 years. During his stay in America he was walking on the streets with peculiar dress- the ochre robe and ochre turban on his head. Some Americans passersby saw this person with peculiar dress. They had never see anyone with suche a dress. They discussed among themselves that this person seems to have come from some uncivilized country. Out of curiosity they went and ask him which country he was from. With all pride, Swami Vivekananda said I'm from India and I'm an Indian.
They told him you are looking uncivilized with a peculiar dress. Swami Vivekananda gave a befitting reply. Look in your country, the dress and tailor make a person great and civilized. But in my country India, dress and tailor do not make a person great and civilized but character makes a person great and civilized.
According to Swami Vivekananda, inner strengths lets us control and overcome mental and emotional reactions. In turn, we are able to realise our full potential. The strong and weak characterized not by their basic inner character situations, and by the way they interact with others.
Swami Vivekananda's Message on Purpose of Life
According to him, the real birth of the individual takes when the purpose of his life germinates. Swami Vivekananda had said, our youngsters should decide what they want to do in their lives. Right from our childhood, we are constantly chained by thought of careers, or what we want to be and in that process forget some of their finest aspects that the life has to offer. It is extremely important not to decide the purpose of life with the narrow objective to be something or the other. Think of doing not becoming and in this process you will certainly become something. Once the purpose of life is clear, all actions of life become driven by that purpose.

The character of any man is the aggravate of his tendencies, but the sum of the total bent of his mind. As pleasure and pain pass before his soul, they leave upon it different pictures and the result of these combined impressions is what is called a man's character.

For any endeavour to attain the pinnacle of success, dedication to the cause is absolutely essential. Swami Vivekananda once said, " To succeed you must have tremendous perseverance tremendous will. 'I will drink the ocean', says the persevering soul; 'at my will mountains will crumble up'. Have that short of energy, that sort of will, work hard and you will reach the goal. Pursuing a challenge wit utmost dedication in indeed a road to success for our youth.
Swami Vivekananda's Message on Teamwork
This era belongs to organization and teamwork. Be it any sector from science, technology to business, teamwork constitute a major cornerstone to attain the desired results. When he was in USA, Swami Vivekananda was greatly impressed by the spirit of their teamwork and he thought of the need to revitalize the spirit of teamwork in India. Leading by example, he founded the Ramkrishna Mission and organized Sanyasis to work towards nation building.
We are the most youthful nation in the world but simply that is not enough. It is necessary to arm our youth with the relevant knowledge and skill that will convert this mammoth potential to desired result.
Swami Vivekananda's Message on Nation Building
Though growth of nationalism is attributed to the western influence but Swami Vivekananda's nationalism is deeply rooted in Indian spiritual and morality. Unlike western nationalism which is secular in nature Swami Vivekananda's nationalism is based on religion which is life blood of the Indian people. Deep concern for masses, freedom and equality through which one expresses self, spiritual integration, of the world on the basis of universal brotherhood, and 'Karmyoga', a system of ethics to attain freedom both political and spiritual through selfless service make the basis on his nationalism.
